In April 2016, Missionaries from across Nigeria embarked on a two (2) weeks Outreach to Plateau & Bauchi states.

The main mission started with the arrival of 103 volunteers on the 1st day which eventually decreased to 92 volunteers by the 2-week.

Volunteers travelled from Abia, Imo, Minna-Niger state, Edo, Calabar, Port Harcourt , Lagos, Jos, Delta and Anambra States to Miya. Part of these volunteers were new converts from Okporo church (Imo State) planted by ALIVE-Nigeria in November 2015.

Volunteers consisted of Secondary school leavers, Undergraduates students, Graduate Professionals, Farmers, Lecturers, Lawyers, Teachers, and even Elders and Pastors of the SDA Church.

Miya is a community in Ganjuwa LGA in Bauchi State. In their history, they have never experienced an open door evangelism from any denomination or religion. So our mission was the first of its kind.

This area is considered an un-entered area by the SDA Church. In this community, about 35% of them are dogmatic Muslims, 20% are COCIN and Catholic Christians and the remaining 45% are pagans.

The people of Miya were so receptive especially the pagans; because they have a culture of hospitality. The Christians were not receptive at first because their Christian leaders told them we’re not Christians and have nothing good to offer. They later discovered for themselves the truth and opened their homes to us. The audience and open door given us was very short lived, owing to the sharp distinctive truth (The Sabbath truth, Daniel’s prophecy, the beasts and the little horn) we preached and the culture of the people of Miya.

It is in the practice of Miya people to return to their farm settlements from mid April, live there for about 10 months and return to Miya town afterwards (that’s in the month of February). So after the first week of witnessing, most of the people left to their farm settlements.

Many of the people craved for more Bible studies while few others showed little interest to it.

Ikot Ntuen Mission

Date: 15/04/2012 - 29/04/2012

Location: Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria

From the 15th to 29th of April at Ikot Ntuen of Oruk Anam L.G.A in Akwa Ibom State, a team of 48 young Seventh Day Adventists formed the ALIVE-Nigeria missions group that embarked on evangelism in that area.

The pervading presence of God’s Spirit in that place through that period, was evident to the members of the team as well as the community. At the end of the mission trip, over 136 souls were systematically taught the key Bible doctrines and 7 initially were baptized. By the week after the volunteers left, 3 more souls were reported to have come looking for the church, requesting for Baptism and more Bible study. As minds were exposed to the truth, those erstwhile bound in mind were set free. John 8:32.

Each volunteer that attended this program was glad to have made it for the mission. The various duties were shared in such a way that everyone present was made fully responsible for an aspect of the mission. Though physically taxing, the volunteers commented that they would not have passed an opportunity like they had anything else. With the variety of programs like the Medical Missionary training, extensive Bible study and continuous prayers, time spent there was spiritually rewarding as it allowed much room for reflection and renewal. The participants also had the opportunity to share their faith built from a personal relationship with Jesus through a study of the Bible.

Orerokpe Mission

Date: 06/11/2011 - 20/11/2011

Location: Delta State, Nigeria

From the 6th through the 20th of November, a total of 31 young and smart graduates, students and professionals, found their way to Orerokpe, Delta state to join in the mission to souls there. Orerokpe, as part of the communities in the Delta region of Nigeria, has a history of adherence to various forms of staunch spiritism. Orerokpe can better be described as a small community filled with intelligent minds that would appreciate truth when it is told. So with a daily training in giving out Bible studies, volunteers were equipped to go door to door preaching the truth and setting the citizens free.

ALIVE-Nigeria and the mission team carried out daily bible studies with far more than 50 individuals in various homes, streets and shops. Alongside the daily witnessing, the team was opportune to have rigorous revival/training on the Bible doctrines.

At the end of the evangelism, 12 souls were baptized into the church with several others still in the valley of decision. Please read on to have an idea of how the Lord used willing youth to move His work forward here in Nigeria. ALIVE-Nigeria profoundly appreciates the efforts of all those who have been supportive of this missionary outreach. May the Lord bless you.

Ejesi Mission

Date: 16/08/2011 - 29/08/2011

Location: Osun State, Nigeria

Within the period of 10th to 31st July, ALIVE-Nigeria - a team of young professionals and student volunteers found their way into the village of Ejesi, situated about 20km far into the jungles of Osun State in Nigeria. There they lived with a group of friendly villagers who had been aching for want of truth. The truth was presented to them as clearly stated by the word of God. With about 30 villages around it, Ejesi stands at the center, as a focal point by which the word of God as a shining light can shine into several other villages thereby setting people free from the devil's yoke.

Amidst the numerous sandflies and other uncomfortable circumstances encountered at that village, the Lord blessed our efforts. By the end of the mission, ALIVE-Nigeria recorded over 150 sick individuals treated naturally, more than 800 items of clothing given out and 41 people baptized. Lots of testimonies came forth from villagers and God was greatly thanked. After our departure, more individuals indicated for want of baptism and presently, thorough bible studies are been given to them. Praise God! With the number of obstacles and opposition we faced at the concept of this mission, we can only say to God be all the Glory for the successful outcome. Please read on to have an idea of how the Lord used willing youth to move His work forward here in Nigeria.
